Allen Furey

Director of Resident Services

Allen has over 20 years of experience working in the human service field in Greater Boston. A long career dedicated to helping people who have been homeless or at risk of homelessness has prepared him for his current position overseeing resident services at Caritas, where he leads a team of four resident services coordinators and one Veterans case manager.

Before Caritas, Allen was a case manager and supervisor working at a local agency to stabilize formerly homeless individuals in their newly acquired homes, where he paved the way for clients to obtain services such as job training, GED classes, budgeting, housing applications, and much more. He began working at Caritas in 2016 as the sole resident support staff assisting residents in six properties. Under his leadership, the team has now grown to six full-time staff working in 33 properties housing over 1,000 residents annually to connect them with access to food, educational programs, job-readiness classes, health insurance, and medical care, or any other community opportunity they may be seeking.

Allen takes pleasure in collaborating and supporting residents in their efforts to reach their goals while working with the team to help residents live a peaceful, productive, safe, and healthy life at their Caritas home. “I take pride in the work that our team does in all our communities with the primary goal of helping our residents retain their housing, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic!”
