YOU Can Make a Meaningful Impact on People Living in Poverty

Your gift of time and talent will improve the quality of life for those in need. Reach out to learn how individuals, friends, workplace teams, and faith communities can participate in preventing homelessness and improving lives, one room at a time.

Volunteer Opportunities

Groups of Less than 20 Participants

Seasonal Yardwork: Help to rake, trim, plant, mulch, and more to provide a beautiful home for residents. Creativity welcomed! A group representative can meet in advance onsite with our staff to plan the project. We are grateful for groups that contribute the materials and tools you will need for a successful volunteer event.

Painting: Your group of experienced painters can brighten up interior hallways and common spaces in a home or outside porches, decks, and railings with a fresh coat of paint.

Cook or Cater a Meal: Shop, prepare, and share a meal for a house, or have food delivered. You can do this in conjunction with a yard or painting project or as its own event.

Plan a Fun Gathering: Combat isolation and loneliness by sharing your musical talents, hosting a board game or movie night, or leading an art or writing workshop.

Groups Over 20 Participants

Adopt a House

Our homes range from 12 residents up to 128 residents. When you adopt a house, you will feel connected to residents and see the difference your support makes all year. You may be surprised at how simple yet meaningful this can be.

  • Service Days: Paint an interior or help with fall and spring clean-ups.
  • Gifts for Residents: Fulfill a wish list for gifts up to $25 for each resident.
  • Celebrate: Help out with holiday parties, monthly birthday cakes, handmade cards, and other ways to bring joy
  • Special Requests: Help our resident service coordinators as resident needs arise, such as a warm winter coat or clothing for a job interview; or provide extra hands for a summer cookout.
