Amy Meneely
Director of Fund Development and Communications
Amy has worked in fundraising and communications for over 25 years. She started out working for arts organizations (she wrote grants in Isabella Stewart Gardner’s dress closet for a while) and eventually shifted to human services.
Amy has had successful positions in corporate sponsorship, grants management, event planning, alumni relations, and communications. She enjoys digging into evaluation, metrics, and evidence-based programming as well as storytelling. A favorite part of her job is getting to know residents and helping them share their powerful and inspiring stories of strength and resilience.
When her kids were toddlers, Amy would take them to a small park and sometimes chat with an elderly man who was often sitting on a bench. He was sad because he has lost a son in war but enjoyed watching the children play. Some years later his photo was in the paper, and a story about how he had died of exposure sleeping outside on a harsh winter night. Amy is grateful for the opportunity to work on behalf of people who need a permanent home.
Amy holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Ithaca College and an MBA in Arts Administration from Binghamton University.
