“My Caritas support team helps me anyway they can. They connected me to health insurance and now we are focusing on finding me a better paying job.”

— Steve, Central House resident

Resident Support Services

Caritas Communities provides on-site comprehensive supportive services to residents in need of an extra hand. Our professional resident support staff are regularly on-site at our houses with the aim of establishing trusting relationships with residents. This approach enables us to help residents identify their needs and the challenges they are facing, and connect them to resources and service providers in the community.

Caritas also collaborates with community agencies that align with our mission of preventing homelessness and stabilizing neighborhoods. Caritas and its partners work together to help place residents in affordable housing and preserve their ability to remain in housing. And because housing is just one of many needs that our residents have, we collaborate with the best service providers to ensure residents have access to quality health care, mental health and substance abuse counseling, and assistance with employment and financial issues.

We recognize that many of our residents have experienced the trauma of homelessness and poverty. It is not enough to house them, but we must provide the support they need to succeed in permanent housing and improve their lives. By helping our residents connect to other service agencies that address issues affecting their quality of life and employability, such as physical and mental health, Caritas is creating the assurance that, whatever situation our residents may be facing, there is someone there to assist.
